During the first quarter of the year, our chapter was busy with Greek Week, Alpha Phifa, and various other community service events and functions with our neighboring Greek houses on campus. The sisters of our chapter have been extremely involved on campus and it seems like this quarter went by in the blink of an eye. Phis love fall!
Here’s a recap of some fall events:
Greek Week- Alpha Phis participated in many Greek Week events like the Greek Kick-Off BBQ, Day of Service, Knowledge Bowl, and the Greek Olympics. Greek Week was a fun time to show our pride in our sorority and have friendly competition between the Greek houses on campus. Our house won the title of Greek Week Champions for the second year in a row, along with Phi Delta Theta. We had a lot of fun and are very proud of the Greek Community we have here on campus!
Alpha Phifa- Our annual philanthropy event, the Alpha Phifa soccer tournament, was this past Sunday on Todd Field from 12-3 pm. There was music, pizza, and tons of spirited teams! Overall, the Phi Delta Theta team took 1st place, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon “Team Dragon” took 2nd place, and “Team Hawaii” took 3rd place. All of the proceeds went to The Alpha Phi Foundation, which benefits women through its funding and support of women’s cardiac care. Thank you to everyone who came out to support a great cause!
The women of Alpha Phi also have been a part of many community service events on campus and in the greater Tacoma community this quarter. Events include the volunteering at Puget Creek Restoration, St. Leo’s Food Bank, The Tacoma Rescue Mission, Tacoma AIDS Walk, and The Heart Walk.
Now that Fall Break is over and the sisters are done studying for midterms, we look forward to planning upcoming events, such as Cardiac Care Week, Formal, and Officer Elections.
Love and AOE from the Sisters of Alpha Phi!
